I think..... so far.
who knows... I think it's more likely to be a blog containing random and pointless rambles of a thirty-something year old. Who knows, someone might read it, love it and publish me right? I mean, that happens right??!!?

Wandering Along

Bloody Nora it's like a skating rink out there!!

<img src="/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":>>" class="middle" border="0">I have just had the most adrenalin fuelled drive of my life!! It was only about 5 miles or so back from circle but blimey! There's nothing like seeing a guy upside down in the ditch to slow you right down! HA right down from 40mph to 25!! I would have stopped to make sure he was ok but the RAC and two other cars were already there so I thought maybe it would be under control!!

So yeah, I've been sitting in another circle. this one isn't so much psychic development as a mediumshiop circle and is a bit more serious than the one I went to before Ben was born. I do sometimes feel like the new girl because a couple in the group are just brilliant, info is spot on and they get stuff right every single time. .... then there's me. I get stuff every time but sometimes it's just completely random! Tonight though, I got a really acurate message for someone and I was spot on so that's great. I am getting there, it's just taking longer than I expected.

Where did I get to last night? ... oh yeah, The Boy was born...late... after a failed induction (no progression) by c-section and after an epidural. not quite the drug free water birth I'd hoped for!! All was well though and he was and is healthy as an ox which is of course the only important thing.

Anyway, I get another go in August and THIS time, I want my damn water birth!! I'm now something like 15 weeks gone. It seems to be flying past this time which is great. August seems like just around the next corner. Yay!!

There will be 21 months between DS and the next one so although it's close, it's not ridiculously so. It'll be hard work but we'll be ok I reckon. Not going to find out what it is or anything so we'll just have to pick names for both and see what comes out. Suggestions on a post card please.... or on a comment card perhaps.

You know what, it might not be much of a post but I'm boring myself tonight so I'm going to go and look at Facebook instead! God knows when I'll next post - busy little bee that I am - I'm out for dinner with work types tomorrow night and then with my lovely friend Ems on thursday! I'll probably have forgotten about my blog again by Friday!!!

Stay warm!

ok so... what news...LOL

well, I had a little boy... a while ago... he's 14 and a half months old now. DS is just fabulous! He's uber cute. maybe I'll even post a photo if you're very lucky. He's a proper little bruiser and he's a big boy - WAY bigger than his little mates! DS has been walking since 10 months so he's well practiced now and likes to try running which is quite entertaining. He actually looks like he's had 10 pints half the time, running or walking, he staggers about bumping into things. Very amusing.

Climbing is DS's favourite thing at the moment. If he can get higher, that's where he wants to be. It's quite nerve wracking to come back into the room having made a cuppa to find your one year old standing up on the back of the sofa trying to reach the pictures on the walls!

He is also talking really well..... full sentences and chatters away all day. Technically, t's not in any language that another person could understand but he's definitely talking and HE knows exactly what he means. The confused look on his face when you don't jump up and do whatever it is he's talking about is most comical.

OK, I'll post a picture cuz it goes with the story. DS stole an apple the other day and RAN around the house taking tiny bites and squealing at it, laughing and shouting. He'd never had a whole apple before but it seems that's the way forward, I no longer peel or chop apples or pears as he seems to find it much more entertaining to have them whole! I'd like to place the picture better but apparently, this is all I can manage tonight! hey ho.

Putting a picture in really seems to have confused this, it doesn't seem to want me to put any more words but anyione who knows me (nobody who's reading this I'm sure!) would tell it, there no shutting me up!

Lets go past the photo and see if it is my friend again.... apparently not. Lesson learned... put in a picture LAST!

I think I'll give up for tonight and hope to get in again tomorrow to bring you more up to date a bit more. Excited?? Perhaps you should be!

I was like this with diaries as a kid, I'd go through phases of writing a bit then forgetting completely, then writing every day and then forgetting again. Mind you, back then it was more about who I fancied and who was fit... I'll try to keep that out of this Blog, y’know, being a happily married woman and all that
Hubby might not approve LOL

So, it's been a week or so and I've been doing very little really. Been gong to work, coming back and flaking out! Made a couple of stools which is good and I've got a couple more to make. I enjoy doing them so that's ok. I'm really please with one of these ones particularly, it's a new idea and I think it's pretty smart. They're kids stools, you can see them at my website: www.mattesdoncottagecrafts.org.uk and if you make a comment on this blog and mention discount, I'll be happy to include you in the 10% off I'm offering my return customers!

What else... erm... oh yeah, I had a health & safety assessment at work which was interesting. I was really nervous because people kept telling me that they wouldn't let me work because I'm using crutches for the SPD at the moment. I thought that if they signed me off this close to my leaving date, they'd start my maternity early. Apparently not! The guy came and the Boss and I had both rushed back from our appointments to make it on time and he basically did what we had already done in our risk assessment!!
What was pretty amusing was that he started out with the 'worst case scenario' - that I could be signed off for the duration of the pregnancy with full pay. How is THAT worst case??!!? Sounds bloody brilliant! Let's do THAT!!!! He just sat and looked at me blinking while the Boss giggled behind his diary.

Unfortunately, they will do everything they can to find you something else to do within the company before they do that, if you can't do your own job... which I can. Bummer. I stay at work with a couple of alterations to what I'm doing.

The up side is that I've only got 6 weeks left before I start Maternity anyway! WOOHOOOO!! (Impressed with my work ethic?!)

what else, what else.... erm.... I've started to try to get the house into some resemblance of order.... it's hard! .... erm.... good grief, SOMETHING else of interest MUST have happened in the last week!?!!?

I've been doing a fair amount of shopping... the birth doesn't seem very far away at all to me so I think I'm starting to panic a little bit. I've got most things (good old eBay) and mum and little sis are coming the weekend after next so I guess we'll do lots of shopping for bits then. Someone gave me something called a nappy cake the other day, I was blown away - totally thrilled. It wasn't something I was expecting at all and not even from someone that I would have thought or expected to give us anything but it's amazing! It's got about 50 nappies and then lots of bits and bobs that will be really sueful and I hadn't got round to buying yet. It's amazing! So amazing in fact that I'm wondering if I don't add nappy cakes to my repertoire for mattesdon cottage crafts!

I've also been shopping for me. Not out of choice really. I'd decided that I won't buy any more maternity clothes as I've only got 9 weeks left so that's just a waste. Then I tried on my black trousers. I had this plan that I would wear these trousers to a wedding next weekend. I wore them about 6 weeks ago and they were still baggy. They're not maternity ones but they've always been huge on me.... until now. I can't do them up!! Nightmare!!!!!!!!!

I knew I was gong to need shoes but I'd not thought about the trousers or top. The top is definitely tight but it's doable... as long as I don't breathe too much. I went to all the obvious places to find trousers and nothing. ARGH!! Then I went online and now upstairs, I have every pair of black maternity trousers that Next offers! LMAO and a pair from Mothercare! I can't quite find the energy for a trying on session just yet but I will do. There's got to be one that fits right?!

Part of the problem is the bandages I've got to wear for the SPD, to keep my hips together. They expand my hip line somewhat. I've got these 'up and in' pants on order so I'm hoping that they'll work like the bandages and I can manage without them for a day. It does mean that I'll have to take my crutches to the wedding which I was trying to avoid because I look like a donkey but there we are.

Anyway, I'd better go back to tidying or to try those trousers on... one of the two. I'm not that keen on either, I have to say!

Ooh, second of the psychic awareness courses on Tuesday so I'm pretty excited for that.

I really enjoyed it. We didn't cover a great deal and there were massive tangents but it was pretty nice to sit in a group with people who were of the same or similar mind and had teh same experiences. It was good to share as they say! They all seem really nice, there were two women about my age and two kids of about 18 and me. One of the kids was the daughter of the woman running it. It was pretty cool. Looking forward to next time.

Been to work again today, dammit. My back has been pretty sore today so I only stayed until about three and then gave up and came home. Two of the others came home at the same time and they had no excuse!!

Julie got caught speeding whilst talking on her mobile phone today.... in the work car park. LOL. Tyrone... must be all of 20-something and thinks he runs the office when, in reality, he is a step up from a parking attendant as far as I can see said she nearly ran him down. I told her that she should have tried harder. It turns out she was dong all of 15mph!!! He says he's seen her 'repeatedly speeding' through the car park. Get a grip (not to mention a life) Tyrone. I think perhaps he feels he has a little something to prove as, bless him, his parents named him Tyrone (he's white btw and racist as that might sound, Tyrone just doesn't suit a skinny white boy!).

*note to self.... give child sensible name*

right, I'd better go and cook - well, look at the cooking.... it's on the hob now and may go horribly wrong if I don't pay it some attention.

I really feel for you if you're reading this - it's got to be the most boring blog in the world!!

  Comments

forgot to write last night!

Well, after saying I'd post after work, I was either too knackered or just plain forgot - I'm not really sure which it was. Thought I'd write a little bit tonight though. It will be a little bit too because my back hurts and my feet look like tehy belong to Shrek! Nice.
... they're not green btw, jsut the same shape as Shrek's feet.

Work was ok yesterday and today - I've actually had some stuff to do which was a bit exciting. After six weeks of sitting there looking out at the rain that was teh summer holidays, I'm actually quite welcoming some work!

My team laughed a bit at me on my crutches but I let them, I don't mind too much. I felt pretty silly anyway and I was laughing at myself too. Today, the massage lady was in so I had my back massage which was lovely as always. The sore bit on my back isn't muscular apparently, just bloody sore. I don't know what that's about so maybe I'll mention it to my doctor when I see ehr next. that said, she'll only say ah well, that's pregnancy and dismiss it.... as she did the hip pain which has ended up with me on crutches - thanks for that doctor, you're genius!

oh you know what, my back is killing me, I'm going to go and lie somewhere to see if I can fix it. Psychic development course starts tonight so I'll write about that afterwards or tomorrow or something. Am quite excited!!

I can't believe my two weeks holiday are up - I'm gutted!! I SO want to be off again! not long now I suppose, I've got 8 weeks left and then I'm off for 33 weeks +. Yay! I suppose I can battle through 8 weeks. hehe

That said, I still don't want to go back. My hips hurt today and so I'll be forced to use my crutches which, in turn, mean I'll look like a donkey at work. Urgh. Julie told me that most people already know so it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise but still. Urgh. You can't even sneak in to your desk like inthe old place, from the door to our area, there is just one long straight walk way so that you have to do a grand entrance whether you want to or not! How embarassing!!
First stop the bosses desk anyway so that I can update him.

On the up side, Duck.... that's the baby.... is kicking like a world class footballer this morning, really wriggling about and jiggling me. cooooooooooooool. I like it when it kicks, makes me remember what I'm doing all this for!

Right - breakfast and work. May or may not post later, depending on how dull my day is! I'm expecting dull.

A friend of mine... an old friend, we've just made contact again through Facebook (wonderful creation!) which has been great.... anyway... she blogs. I was reading hers and she's basically just got a diary of her days with her husband, I think he blogs too, and her kids, Big and Small. I really liked it and I'll keep reading cuz I'm nosey.... no! I mean it's interesting!!

I'm presuming her kids have real names too because Big is a girl and small is a boy. At some point, presumably, Small will grow bigger than Big and that will just be confusing won't it?! I mean, would they swap names??

I thought my blog could be a bit of a diary at the moment... well, I know that's what a blog is but I kind of wanted to write down what's happening at the moment. I keep thinking of writing it down in a book but I don't get round to that and I'm much better at beign at my computer.

Right, where to start?! I suppose I already have really haven't I?! I'm 34 and I'm a Geordie by birth... I was brought up a Geordie and then *sob* this bloke came and whisked me off my feet... the only problem was that he's a bloody southerner and he's a landscaper so there's no work in the north *sob* so I get to live in sunny Bucks. As my mum says, of you want your grass mowed in Newcastle, you mow the bloody grass!! People here will pay £15 per hour for you to do it for them!! I still think it's pretty funny. To be fair to him, there's a bit more to hubby's job than mowing grass - he does some massive landscaping jobs, not to mention tree work blah blah. Anyway, where was I?! Oh yeah... I came to live in the south... dammit.

I've been here 7 years now and I'm getting slowly used to it. It's prety different but it's not all bad. We live in Bucks which is lovely and we're in a little village which is fab. Got hitched a couple of years ago to said whisking bloke and we're settled down with our two dogs, chickens and ducks... oh and I'm 29 weeks pregnant and that's what I was intending to write about, maybe I'll send the link to my mum and then she can read about it rather than listen to me ramble on, poor woman. OK, where was I *wake up*
I'm 29 weeks pregnant and I'm feeling pretty good in the main, I can't wait to meet the baby!!

I do have a slight concern (for slight concern, read major panic) about how we're going to get the baby out mind you but I'm in complete denial and refuse to think about it. The baby is wriggling around a lot now which is really cool. Pete's still only managed to feel it about three times as he keeps missing it! He doesn't seem too worried but then that's him all over.

I was diagnosed with symphysis pubis dysfunction a couple of weeks ago which is a complete bind. It basically means that my hips are relaxing too much and the bones rub together. I don't know too much about the medical side but I can tell you, it bloody hurts!! they've given me a spectacularly sexy bit of tubi grip to wear and I've now got a bandage that goes on top of that. Also, just to make sure that I look like a complete donkey when I go back to work tomorrow, they've given me crutches. Perfect.
I'm REALLY not looking forward to going in tomorrow (on so many levels)

We've been to a friend's BBQ today which was fun. We took the dgos which probably wasn't sensible...
The first thing Bailey did was to wee on the kitchen floor!!!!!!! He's NINE! He does NOT wee inside!! I was suitably embarassed. Nobody else seemed too worried mind you. They proceeded to sit under the food table and tell everyone they were starving, poor things; rush about after the children in search of food (they're labradors btw so it's expected I suppose). One of the kids came up to us and proudly told us they'd fed the dogs their chicken bones. excellent. Then the host of the party gave them boiling hot sausages which they wolfed down and then promptly brought back up onto their hall floor. All in all a perfect outing I think you'd agree! One really cool thing was that I met a girl who has the same due date as me! We're going to keep in touch so that we can panic together - great idea.

We got home and I suddenly remembered we were going to bid on a nursing chair on eBay and forgot to put the darn bid in. We had decided that our maximum would be £300 (they're £400 new) and the bloody thing went for £250. Course it did. Grrrrr

Anyway, that's all for today. I don't think much else has happened... I got an order for three childrens stools which is good. Check them out at: www.mattesdoncottagecrafts.org.uk

All advertising is good advertising right!? <img src="/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":>>" class="middle" border="0">
